Why We Chose to Launch a Printed Newsletter for Senior Touch

By Forrest, Senior Touch Massage Professionals

I’ll be honest with you…

This wasn’t some big marketing brainstorm.

It wasn’t about funnels, algorithms, or trying to “stay relevant.”

It came down to something much simpler:

How do we stay connected to the people who actually matter… our clients?

Our Massage Technicians Started Noticing Something…

Most of our clients aren’t glued to their phones.

They’re not checking email ten times a day. They’re not clicking links or watching reels.

But they are:

  • Sitting at the kitchen table going through their mail

  • Holding onto things that feel important

  • Sharing helpful information with a spouse or family member

And it hit me…

Why are we trying to reach them in a way that doesn’t fit how they live?

So We Did Something Different

We created The Touch.

A printed newsletter.

Something they can:

  • Hold in their hands

  • Read at their own pace

  • Come back to later

  • Leave on the table for someone else to see

No logins.No passwords.No “click here.”

Just something real.

This Was Never About Selling

If you read the newsletter, you’ll notice something…

We’re not pushing offers. We’re not cramming in promotions.

Instead, we’re sharing:

  • Helpful information for seniors

  • Things to watch out for

  • Ways to stay safe, comfortable, and informed

And yeah… sometimes we include a Sudoku puzzle.

Not because it’s strategic.

But because it makes people smile.

The Response Told Me Everything I Needed to Know

When clients started reaching out, it wasn’t about booking more sessions.

It was things like:

“It’s just nice knowing we’ll get the news on anything for seniors we should know about.”

Or simply:

“I love the newsletter.”

That’s when I knew…

We made the right call.

Why We Didn’t Just Email It

Could we have sent this digitally?

Of course.

But here’s the truth:

Most emails get deleted. Some never get opened. Almost none get remembered.

A printed newsletter?

That sticks around.

It gets read. It gets re-read. It gets noticed.

This Is About Trust, Not Tactics

At Senior Touch, everything we do comes back to one thing:

Making people feel comfortable, safe, and cared for.

The newsletter is just another way we do that.

It’s a quiet reminder that:

  • We’re here

  • We’re paying attention

  • And we genuinely care about their well-being

And Here’s the Part Most People Miss…

This only works if you keep showing up.

Not once. Not when you “have time.”

But consistently.

Because every issue says:

“We didn’t forget about you.”

Final Thought

I didn’t launch a printed newsletter to be clever.

I launched it because it felt right for our clients.

And sometimes…

The best decision you can make in business is to stop chasing what everyone else is doing…

And start doing what actually serves your people.
